UNDP hires personnel through international or local recruitment. It applies several types of contracts depending on a number of criteria, such as legal basis and duration of services. The standard types of contracts are:

  • Fixed Term Appointment (FTA) – nationals and internationals
  • Temporary Assignment (TA) – nationals and internationals
  • Service Contracts (SC) – nationals only

Fixed Term Appointments (FTA) are concluded for the staff members contracted under Staff Rules and may be granted for a period of 1 year or more. Salary scale for national staff is based on the best prevailing local conditions. Salary scale for international staff is based on the best comparator civil service.
Temporary Appointments (TA) are concluded for the staff members under TA Guidelines. Maximum duration of the contract is 364 days. TA shall be granted for a period of less than one year to meet seasonal or peak workloads and specific short-term requirements, having an expiration date specified in the letter of appointment. Salary scale for national staff is based on the best prevailing local conditions; Salary scale for international staff is based on the best comparator civil service.
Service Contracts (SC) are for national project personnel governed by explicit terms of service. The duration of the contract must be 6 months or more. Salary scale is based on local market conditions for specific jobs.
All our vacancies are published on UNDP Montenegro web-site. In addition to that, all job vacancies for national positions are published in Montenegrin daily newspapers “Vijesti” and “Dan”.
