Crisis mitigation in uncertain times: Conflict prevention through targeted economic development and institutional building
Project Goal:
Conflict prevention through targeted economic development and institutional building” proposes the accelerated establishment of new conflict management mechanisms at the national level, a series of improvements to the business environment of the North-west region and support to the under-resourced municipal authorities in promoting social inclusion, and re-employment and vocational training for redundant workers with a goal of providing a chance for re-absorbtion into the labor market. The proposed programme draws on UNDP’s existing strengths and programmes in governance, environment and local development but seeks to promote a rapid improvement in crisis prevention and mitigation both nationally and in the North-west of the country in particular.
