What UNHCR and UNICEF in Montenegro are doing to achieve the MDGs

UNHCR Montenegro has been helping the Montenegrin Government in finding durable solutions for persons displaced to Montenegro since the start of the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia. UNHCR also assists the government in the establishment of its first-ever national asylum system and combats statelessness through advocacy and by facilitating documentation and civil registration.

UNICEF Montenegro supports the Government of Montenegro in building policy, legislative and institutional framework for the full promotion and protection of children’s rights, in particular the rights of excluded children that are exposed to poverty, discrimination, abuse and neglect; children without parental care; children with disabilities; children from minority groups; children in conflict with law; and most at-risk adolescents.
