Decreasing Vulnerability of Roma

“Improving institutional capacity and monitoring capabilities at central and local level for decreasing vulnerability of Roma in Western Balkans” is a regional project which intends to decrease vulnerability and human security risks Roma are facing through improving their access to social services and development opportunities.  The project involves both central and local levels, it engages Roma NGOs as representatives of Roma communities, and is being implemented in the interrelated priority areas of social security, welfare system and employment.
The overall objective for Montenegro component is to reduce poverty of the targeted Roma for 25-30% ensuring improved and sustainable social inclusion, better employment and development opportunities. Wider project impacts are development of enhanced local, vulnerable groups oriented social security system and development of an environment supportive of disadvantaged Roma to improve their life quality with own endeavours.
The project impacts human rights and poverty reduction but it exceeds to democracy and good governance, women empowerment, social and human development, social security for inclusion and employment opportunities.

Montenegro component is implemented in the municipalities of Berane, Nikšić and Bar.
